Embedded systems are everywhere: computing, automobile, avionics, satellites, telecommunications, home automation systems, medical, consumer electronics, remote sensing etc... Electronics is one of the major disciplines in the conception of embedded systems. It allows the design of integrated circuits (microprocessors, DSP, ASICs), digital and analog signal processing. Microwaves and High Frequency components and Systems are in the heart of telecommunications (satellites, Mobiles phones, automobile and health). The effective management of the energy in these circuits is the common denominator of all embedded applications.

Objectifs

This program is dedicated to the electronic systems for embedded and communicating applications: design of integrated circuits (noise, EMC, energy management, power, MEMs, optoelectronics, instrumentation), RF circuits, antennas (numerical methods for electromagnetism, High Frequency passive circuits, electrodynamics, materials) and the digital signal and image processing (telemedicine and remote sensing applications). The basic courses concern signal theory, signal processing, electromagnetism, circuits’ theory (analog, digital, RF) with dedicated lab projects. Finally, the relations with industry and research are important:  industrial and research projects are proposed during the Master Program.

During the 1st semester, advanced courses in the main topics of Electronics for Embedded and Communicating Systems are proposed:

  • mobile
  • power
  • radar
  • telecoms

 

A research project of 100 hours tutored by researchers of the major research institutes of Toulouse, is to be taken out of a list of proposed topics.

Stages

The 2nd semester is dedicated to a 5 or 6 months internship in a research institute or in a company.

Employees and job searchers who would like to take up their studies again.

 

Required level :

Bachelor of Science, Engineering degree, 4 years of higher education or a minimum of two years of higher education in sciences with professional experience in the field.

the opportunities are mainly in the fields of Research and Development within companies (service today most strategic for the company), and in the Design of embedded electronic systems:

  •      Electronic circuits in the form of printed circuits or integrated circuits,
  •      The design of electronic analog or digital functions, signal processing or onboard energy management,
  •      Measuring instruments, data acquisition and processing facilities,
  •      Telecommunications equipment
  •      Audio and video equipment and facilities,
  •      Automotive, aerospace, space.
  •      etc ..
